  1. At Ease In Zion Amos 6:1

  2. Being at ease isn’t because: • There’s nothing to do.

  3. There’s plenty of work to do. • Luke 9:62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Cf. Philippians 2:12, Ephesians 2:10, 4:15-16 • John 9:4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the nightiscoming when no one can work. • Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

  4. Being at ease isn’t because: • There’s nothing to do. • There are too many workers.

  5. The laborers are few • Luke 10:2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. • Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

  6. Being at ease isn’t because: • There is nothing to do. • There are too many workers. • There is plenty of time.

  7. Time is limited and precious. • Proverbs 27:1 Do not boast about tomorrow,      For you do not know what a day may bring forth. • 2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. • Mark 13:33-37

  8. Being at ease isn’t because: • There is nothing to do. • There are too many workers. • There is plenty of time. • Our fire insurance is paid.

  9. We can drift away. • Hebrews 2:1-4 • 2 Peter 1:5-11 • 2 Peter 3:17-18 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

  10. Being at ease isn’t because: • There is nothing to do. • There are too many workers. • There is plenty of time. • Our fire insurance is paid. • The reward is not worth the effort.

  11. Heaven is worth it. • Colossians 1:3-6 • 1 Peter 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,

Heaven is worth it. • John 14:1-3 • John 8:51 Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.” • John 5:28-29 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.
