  1. Festivals Come Alive With The Indian Community In Sydney Living away from your home town is never easy, because there are so many things about it that you miss. You would miss your family and friends, and you would miss the food and the general feeling that you get, when you are in your hometown. However, it is during the festival times that this feeling becomes the most heightened, but if you are part of an Indian community in Sydney, then you have little to worry about! These days, if you pick up any of the Indian newspapers in Australia at a time when an Indian festival is just around the corner, you will feel like you are actually in India. There is not only an immense exchange of information, but also so much to learn about how the Indian community in Australia has evolved, but still managed to keep their culture and traditions alive. As a matter of fact, when you arrive in an Australian city during any Indian festival time, you might not even feel that you are not in India. During the times of Diwali or Holi, you will notice that even the Sydney Australia newspapers will have that splash of colour that is so typical of India and Indian festivals. Gone are the days, when these festivals were celebrated only by Indians. Today, with second and third generation Indians, even Australians have become aware of these festivities and are choosing to participate in them. As Indians are becoming global, so are their festivities and Australia is no different.
