  2. Short Term Scientific Missions STSM • Trondheim meeting  Helmut was appointed to apply for STSM • Reference No: COST ACTION 626, No. 231/00 • Current state: Letter of application May 11th, 2001 Now at research directorate, signature expected in Autumn ??? (last info from 8.8.2001)

  3. STSM Goals • allowing scientists to go to a laboratory in another COST 626 country • learn a new techniquein data collection • make measurements using instruments and/or methods not available in their own laboratory

  4. STSM Goals Work primarily focus on • comparison of strategies for data collection in rivers (biotic/physical) • development of instrumentation techniques between different countries • set up guide lines for standardized physical/biological measurement methods and use of equipment

  5. STSM Budget • Available amount • 11.500 € in total • 10.500 € for short term scientific missions • 1.000 € administrative costs • Minimum 7 missions • 1.500 € average contribution per mission

  6. STSM Who & How • All members of COST Action 626 member states can apply (Travel to another COST 626 member state having signed the MoU) • Send all necessary papers to Helmut • Decision made by a committee after prioritising (administrator, WG leaders, Atle)

  7. STSM Necessary papers • Application form DG XII/B/1 • Motivation & working plan • Requested funding • Acceptance by host institute (Public or private)form DG RTD/B5 COST • Duration (min. 3 days, max. 1 month)
