  1. APAN-JP’s Advanced TTSdevelopment plan Takatoshi Ikeda KDDI Labs/APAN-JP APAN meeting in Singaple (7/18/2006)

  2. Background • Difficulty to know the subtle abnormality User generally knows the only information of the complete outage caused by the trouble and maintenance work from the trouble ticket. However, user sometimes wants to know the subtle abnormality such as performance degradation. • Difficulty to find the suitable operational data When operators and users want to know the network status, it is not easy for them to find the suitable operational data because there are so many systems and graphs which show operational data. • Inefficiency of the operation When operators investigate some trouble, they need to open so many windows to see operational data such as TTS, MRTG, Router Console and so on. -> It’s necessary to have the system which provides the integrated operational data. APAN meeting in Singaple (7/18/2006)

  3. Outline • Goal • Sharing the operational data (NOC-NOC Communication) • Efficiency of operation • Fundamental Feature • TT management Manage the Trouble Ticket. (Issue, update and so on) • External Gateway Gather the operational data related with TTs from the external system. Operator User Mgmt & Provide Provide Advanced TTS WEBInterface TT management External GW Get operational data in the external system External System MRTG、RouterProxy、 Observatory、、、、 APAN meeting in Singaple (7/18/2006)

  4. External Gateway • Specification • Method An agent is set in the External system. Then, External GW makes a request to an agent to gather the desired data • Protocol SOAP+HTTP • Target External System • MRTG • RouterProxy ** • Observatory(BWCTL) ** • RTT ** sample scripts has been developed operator users Provide the data Advanced TTS WEB interface External GW Get operational data External System Agent (SOAP API) Operational data APAN meeting in Singaple (7/18/2006)

  5. External GW (Example) • Throughput measurement +Interface usage operator users • Throughput Send a request to the BWCTL server • Interface Send a request to the Router Proxy • Result Combine the result and provide it C) Advanced TTS WEB interface External GW B) SOAP A) Router Proxy SOAP Agent NMS1 NMS2 RP Agent BWCTL BWCTL Throughput Measurement APAN meeting in Singaple (7/18/2006)

  6. Issues • Collaboration with other NOCs • Standardization of Trouble Tickets • Possible way of notification (RSS, XML, etc) ->Cooperate with GlobalNOC and other NOCs • Plug-in system for the External GW • The module for each GW should be plug-in • The operator could see only the operational data they want APAN meeting in Singaple (7/18/2006)

  7. Schedule 2007/1 2006/10 2006/7 2006/8 2006/9 Local test Experimental use at SC06 Considering TT. Develop the External GW Develop the TT feature. Report at APAN Meeting In Manila チケットフォーマット検討 チケットフォーマット検討 APAN meeting in Singaple (7/18/2006)
