  2. MAPAS CONCEPTUALES En la década de 1960, JOSEPH D. NOVAK comenzó a estudiar la técnica mapas conceptuales. Su trabajo se basó en las teorías de DavidAusubel, quien destacó la importancia del. conocimiento previo para ser capaz de aprender acerca de nuevos conceptos.

Generar ideas (intercambio de ideas); • Diseñar estructuras complejas (textos largos, multimedia, sitios web); • Comunicar ideas complejas • Ayudar al aprendizaje mediante la integración explícitamente de los conocimientos nuevos y antiguos; y • Evaluar la comprensión o diagnosticar malentendidos. Los símbolos visuales son reconocidos de forma rápida y sencilla; • El mínimo uso de texto hace que el análisis sea fácil para buscar una palabra, frase o la idea general; y • La representación visual permite el desarrollo de un entendimiento holístico que las palabras por sí sola no pueden transmitir.
