  1. Robert Hancock 650 Introduction

  2. About Me I am always here to help you. Call me (985)-351-2600 or (985) 893-5423 if you need help with anything.

  3. The Class • The class is designed to give you an overview of networking to prepare you for dealing with networks in the educational environment.

  4. Why Network+ ? • It is a VERY good idea to back up a Masters Degree in educational technology with one or more certifications in a technology related field. In a hierarchy of certifications, CompTIA A+ would be the very entry level, with CompTIA Network + being the second desirable certification.

  5. Do you have to certify? • No !!! Taking the actual certification exam is up to you. Take it if you wish, if you have studied you will be ready.

  6. Is the class only Network+ ? • No !!! The class goes into several topics beyond Network+ that are of specific interest to educators such as the creation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and the creation of Acceptable Use Policies (AUPs).

  7. The Book • Mike Meyer’s is one of the very best in the field and his book All in One CompTIA Network+ is the highest rated book for prepping for the Network+ exam, especially in the area of ease of understanding.
