MondayFebruary 24, 2014 • Content Objective: The students will be able to read a non-fiction, informational text and extract important information to support a claim. • Language Objective: We will read the article for our next Socratic Seminar and create a T-Chart of important facts to support our argument. We will use the Toulmin Argumentation Method to complete this task. • Agenda: • 1. Copy Content Objective, Language Objective and Agenda. • 2. Complete the Reflective Reading /Writing Activity • 3. Read the Socratic Seminar Article • 4. Create a T-Chart … DUE AT THE END OF CLASS • UPDATE…VOCABULARY TEST RESCHEDULED FOR MARCH 6 • UPDATE…AMNESTY DAY IS THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 27. SUBMIT ONE MISSING ASSIGNMENT FROM FEBRUARY FOR FULL CREDIT.

  3. Reflective Reading/Writing • Sit quietly in your chair. Think about the 3 most pressing assignments due in ANY of your classes this week. Create an plan to complete these activities. Write your plan in OUTLINE FORM. • 1. Write in ink • 2. Use the standard outline form with roman numerals and lower case letters. • 3. Work for the entire 10 minutes.

TuesdayFebruary 25, 2014 • Content Objective: The students will be able to discuss a non-fiction, informational text and extract important information to support a claim. • Language Objective: We will discuss the article for our next Socratic Seminar. We will use the Toulmin Argumentation Method to complete this task. • Agenda: • 1. Copy Content Objective, Language Objective and Agenda. • 2. Socratic Seminar 

Debrief the Socratic Seminar Article • 4. Complete the Debrief Worksheet… DUE AT THE END OF CLASS 

What would you change about San Marin High School so that it more effectively prepares you for your adult life? Ideas: 1.What courses would you add? 2. What courses would you delete? 3. How would you change homework and assignments?
