  6. The death of King Arthur • After a time of peace, Civil War broke out • Was deadly wounded in the battle of Camlann by his enemy Mordred

  7. The body was sent to the isle of Avalon • Three maidens cured him • Rests under a hill • Waits to come and save his country again

  9. Robin Hood • A noble outlaw • In English folklore in the 15th century • A highly skilled archer • His fellow outlaws – the “Merry Men”

  11. Maid Marian • Romantic line was added by lady Marian in the 16th century • Robin’s sweetheart was ‘Clorinda the Queen of the Shepherdesses’ • later refers to lady Marian

  12. A commoner • An aristocrat • wrongfully dispossessed of his lands • Made an outlaw
