  2. Las Tapas y “tertulia” Tapas is the name given for the after work/before dinner snack time so popular in Spain. It occurs daily, in bars and pubs, from 5-7, and includes a variety of wonderful, delicious “pickings”.

  12. Dorada a la sal This meal is prepared by taking a whole cod fish, and encasing it in packed salt, then baking it. When ready, the salt is cracked away and a moist delicious unsalty fish is eaten.

  13. Cochinillo asado For this meal, a whole piglet is roasted a long time, until the meat practically falls off the bone. It is considered lucky if you get part of an ear or tail with your serving!

  14. Cordero asado This meal is roasted lamb. Again, the meat is cooked a long time, but it is always juicy and tender.

  15. El flan caramelo Originally from Spain, this egg-based dessert is popular all over Latin America.

  16. Fresones con nata The extra-large strawberries can be served with whipped cream or with just heavy cream poured over them.
