  1. Inhumane Farming Methods By Amy, Courtney & Marc

  2. The Humane Farming Association is the nation's most effective organization dedicated to the protection of farm animals. Founded in 1985, and over 250,000 members strong, HFA has gained national recognition and respect for its hard work, integrity, and its highly-successful campaigns. Introduction

  3. In the crowded "battery cages" of today's egg factories, the life of a factory farmed hen is one of intense suffering. She is confined her entire life in a tiny cage with four, five (or more) other hens. There's barely room to stand, let alone walk or stretch her wings. Normal behaviours such as nest building, dust bathing, perching, scratching the ground, and walking are all impossible. Egg Factories

  4. Industrial pig farms now dominate the pork industry - enabled by drugs that allow animals to be intensively confined, and encouraged by federal tax breaks that favour large-scale corporate agriculture. This has created dire consequences for consumers, the environment, and, of course, the animals. Inside the pig industry

  5. The environmental hazards inside the pig factories are among the worst to be found in any industry. The closed buildings of the industrialised pig farm contain a dangerous combination of noxious fumes and decomposing fecal matter. Environmental Destruction

  6. Cattle at the largest beef slaughterhouse in Washington state are excessively prodded and arrive at the knocking box in a frantic state. As a result, they cannot be properly stunned and thus are shackled, hoisted, skinned, and butchered while still conscious. Cattle Slaughterhouses

  7. Consumer awareness and consumer pressure are the most effective means we have for eliminating the health hazards posed by factory farming and for ending the needless suffering of animals. • Educate yourself about the inhumane and cruel nature of this barbaric custom. Visit www.bancrueltraps.org for information on traps and poisons used to capture and kill animals for their fur and for predator control. • Spread the word. How can you help!?
