  2. Setting  The Gang also known as (the Greasers) all live together in the “Hood” without any parents. They live on the East Side , and the Socs Randy and Bob live on the West Side . The Gang members include Darry , Dally Winston , Soda Pop , Ponyboy , and Johnny .(the gang’s “pet”)

  3. Characters

  4. Pony boy and Johnny are in the park by the fountain and were being jumped by Randy and Bob (the socs) and they almost drown pony boy ,so Johnny kills Bob and they run away to an abandon church to avoid being caught by the cops for murder. Also Pony boy doesn’t like that the people there are separated socially into groups like the greasers , and the socs.(Man vs Society).  Conflict

  5. Summary of Plot • Pony boy an the gang all live in the hood . they don’t have any parents to take care of them so the older brothers do . While in the park one night a car of Socs arrive , and the Socs Randy and Bob jump pony boy and Johnny almost drowning pony boy. So Johnny kills him and they both get scared , and go to Dally Winston for money . They run away that night to an old abandon church. The church burns down , and injures pony boy and Johnny . Johnny ends up in severe injury and dies , and then Dally Winston gets shot by the cops. So pony boy and Darry agree to stop fighting for Soda pop and get along.

  7. The point of view is in Pony Boy’s point of view . It helps understand how he felt different about everything and everything in the world . Like how he liked to watch sunsets and no one else in his family did. The story would be different if it was in someone else's point of view , because they see everything in the world differently.   8. Symbolism • The Lion Symbolizes Pony boy’s bravery throughout the book. 

  9. Recommendation • The book IS!!!! Worth reading , because it helps you understand thing from other point of views , and it was an exciting book to read.
