  1. Jared Leto A world of his own Rita Guerra Echelon Conference London 2013

  2. Some other sun • “I showed up in LA with $500 and a backpack and I stayed at a shelter, so nobody handed me anything. I worked for every single thing that I have.” That was 1992, after college in Philadelphia and New York. What were YOU doing then? Echelon Conference London 2013

  3. Some other sun When a 22-year-old can pass asa 16-year old teenager, you know you’ve got something there. Jared hates what he did as an actor in “My So-Called Life”, in 1994, but we know better. That was the first glimpse we saw of how magical and hypnotic he could be. Echelon Conference London 2013

  4. Some other sun Echelon Conference London 2013

  5. Some other sun Jared did a number of movies, some bigger than others, and got critical apraisal for some of his roles. He’s a natural talent. The tone of his voice, his undisputable beauty – so evident that was often undermined – the expression of his eyes, are one of a kind. You watch him and you are certain that a thousand worlds are being created inside those eyes Echelon Conference London 2013

  6. “As artists, it’s our job to delve into the uncomfortable, the difficult and the challenging.” Echelon Conference London 2013

  7. The Mission • Jared is a diva. A control freak. A very uncommon person. He puts everything he has into his craft, whether in acting, music, photography and entrepreneurship. He lives inside a bubble, touched only by his famiy, his dogs and some friends. He forged a very special bond with the Echelon because that’s what we are – freaks. Like him. Echelon Conference London 2013

  8. The mission • “I knew what I was walking into, and I knew that I was going to get my ass kicked, and it would have been much easier to just continue making films, but I’ve been making music since I was a kid and I certainly wasn’t going to let that stop me from pursuing my dreams…” [FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS] [ALWAYS KEEP SEARCHING] Echelon Conference London 2013

  9. oblivion • “When you’re young, you don’t know that you’re poor, you just know whether or not you’re happy. And i was happy, and loved. My mom did whatever she has to do to get by, and the lesson I learned from my childhood was that it’s possible to pursue happiness, no matter where that pursuit may lead you.” Echelon Conference London 2013

  10. It's the end here todayBut I will build a new beginningTake some time, find a placeAnd I will start my own religion Can you feel it? Things are changing. Can you see it? Watch as the worlds colliding Echelon Conference London 2013

  12. Year zero • Jared knew, even without having released any song, he was going to create a CULT. Not in the way most people perceive it; but as a safe place for the freaks, for those who understand, for the children of a lesser God. Be a HERO, kill your EGO. Echelon Conference London 2013

  13. Night of the hunter • Jared is one of the most creative and weird people you can ever meet. He’s a force of nature, sometimes impossible to deal with. Sometimes a brat, sometimes a genius. He lives inside a strange world where creepy thoughts and dark feelings dance around with brilliant ideas and an out of this world I.Q. • He’s now a skinny, single, 41-year-old vegan male. And we love him just as much as in the beginning. Echelon Conference London 2013

  14. On his face is a map of the world Echelon Conference London 2013

  15. Night of the hunter • Jared’s art will forever be misunderstood. He doesn’t deal well with criticism. He knows he’s a genius, and it’s hard for him to understand why the rest of the world won’t recognize that. We, the Echelon, have helped him become certain that what he does has real value and impact. We are the guardians of his strange little bubble. Echelon Conference London 2013

  16. “Where does your garden grow? Tell me the secrets that you know. Another time, another place. Where are the holy ones? Selling the secrets to the sun. WELCOME TO THE UNIVERSE” Echelon Conference London 2013

  17. A beautiful lie “30 Seconds To Mars is a pox upon music, they are a blight on the aural landscape, and you should all write Leto emails begging him to stop. Do yourself a favor and download some Muse or Mars Volta if you are looking for some great Prog. This is War is an insult to people with taste, and harmful to your ears. There is nothing redeeming about this record, I would even be hesitant to put it in my iTunes for fear it would corrupt other albums in my collection with it's otherworldly suckage.“ – Culture Blues, January 2010 Echelon Conference London 2013

  18. A beautiful lie • “It's not just that Leto is a better actor than a musician. It's not just the horror stories we hear in backstage rooms about Leto's rumored egomania and the persistent, alleged tales of bratty behavior that continue to follow him around. Put in the simplest of terms, when we think about 30 Seconds to Mars, we just cannot figure out who the hell is still buying the band's music at this point.” SF Weekly, March 2013 Echelon Conference London 2013

  19. Echelon Conference London 2013

  20. savior The band, but specifically Jared Leto, have endured the wildest criticism. Harsh, personal, destroying. How has he cope with that? BEING HIMSELF. AND THEN WORST. Echelon Conference London 2013

  21. savior Through all the drama, the fangirling, the whiners, the bitches, the stalkers, the bad decisions, Jared Leto and Thirty Seconds to Mars opened up a world into our eyes and souls that we would have never seen otherwise. We found a meaning and a sense of belonging within this bizarre family. Echelon Conference London 2013

  22. Kings and queens Being an Echelon means you take it all – the good, the bad, and the ugly. Means you know Jared Leto isn’t Jesus Christ reincarnated (a girl actually asked me if he was), that he isn’t the most kind and easygoing person around, that he does have faults and most of them we will never know. And we shouldn’t. Echelon Conference London 2013

  23. Was it a dream...? Echelon Conference London 2013

  24. I won’t suffer, be broken, get tired or wasted. Surrender to nothing or give up what I started and stoped it, from end to beginning A new day is coming and I am finally free Echelon Conference London 2013

  25. Jared Leto is my inspiration. This isn’t a biography, it’s a fucking THANK YOU. (Sorry for the language. I thought it was appropriate.) Echelon Conference London 2013
