Internet Safety Inquiry Centers Essential Question: How can I stay safe online? Objective: Students will rotate through 6 Inquiry Centers completing various activities to learn about Internet Safety. Project Standards: • NETS 5A Students will practice safe, legal, and responsible use of information, technology and the Internet.
4 Steps to Inquiry Centers • Experience • Inquiry • Create • Reflect • If you finish early, Enrichment. • You will be working entire time!
4 Jobs • Timer • Keeps eye on timer and notifies group when they should be switching Steps in the Inquiry Center. • Keeps group focused on daily deadlines. • Materials • Picks up materials box off front table. • Distributes and communicates what materials are needed for the activity. • Some days delivers neat box to front table at end of class.
4 Jobs • Captain • Keeps group moving through the Inquiry Centers. • Reads the direction aloud to the group. • Highly motivated. • Organizer • Submits group work to the submit area. • Some days delivers neat box to front table at end of class.
Contract • Fill in ALL blanks on the contract. • Sign-Up for a Job and Sign • By signing this I am agreeing that you will complete the following responsibilities for my group. These responsibilities will ensure we are working together as a group. In addition to these, I agree to actively participate and contribute in our groups’ effort to complete the Inquiry Centers. If I do not hold up my end of this agreement, I will receive 1 warning only. I understand that I can be asked to leave my group and complete remaining activities on my own. I understand that any work I do not complete in class will be completed during my lunch hour.
