Value Proposition • Biggest challenge faced by Immunization Information Systems (IISs) in providing complete patient immunization histories is electronic connections to EMRs • EMR implementers spend 30K per connection to create HL7 Version 2 connections • Installed base is HL7 V2.3.1 but EMRs and other systems are looking to Continuity of Care Document and related standards • Comprehensive medical summary • HL7 Version 3 XML-based • Immunization Content provides a seamless bridge between Version 2 and Version 3

Use Case • EMR system uses CCD as its primary internal data format • It needs to query an Immunization Information System and combine data with other medical summary data • Medications • Allergies • Medical History • The EMR system issues a query to a Health Information Exchange, which can optionally query an IIS using HL7 V2 or HL7 V3
