  1. We Must Look To The Creator Of Marriage! God Female Male • God • If God has created man, then we must take things in a more serious light. • God created man (Gen. 1:26-27). • God ordained marriage (Gen. 2:24; Matt. 19:4-6). • God regulates marriage (Mk. 10:9). • God can approve (Gen. 5:2) and disprove (Mal. 2:14-16).

  2. Before destruction a man's heart is haughty, but humility goes before honor. If one gives answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame. (Proverbs 18:12-13 RSV)

  3. Communication in Marriage!

  4. The Need of Communication… Therefore we must pay the closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. (Hebrews 2:1 RSV) • Lives can drift apart. • Problems must be solved. • We are different in how we approach things.

  5. The Commitment to Communicate… Know this, my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger, for the anger of man does not work the righteousness of God. (James 1:19-20 RSV) • Consider the four stages of decay in a relationship. • Mutual needs are met. • Mutual needs are ignored by one or both. • Mutual needs are demanded to be met by one or both. • The relationship ends.

(Eph. 5:15,16) • Learn to Listen. (James 1:19-21) • Practice the Basics of Love. (1 Cor. 13:4-7) • Be a Trustworthy Person. (Prov. 11:12-13) • We must Follow God’s Order of Subjection. (1 Cor. 11:3; Eph. 5:22,23)
