Summary

  • A summary is when a reader puts the central idea of a work into their own words

  • It is often quite a bit shorter than a paraphrase because it does not go line by line

  • Example: Finding Nemo

    • Summary: A young clownfish defies his father and ends up being fish-napped. His father then goes on a journey with his flighty companion to rescue his son. Both characters undergo a change.
