  • Born on 24 July 1890 in Malolos, Bulacan.

  • His parents are Isidro Tolentino and Balbina Estrella.

  • In 1919 - 1921, he studied and graduated in United States with scholarship grant & honor.

  • In 1926 - he became a professor at the University of the Philippines' School of Fine Arts.

  • In 1932, Tolentino married Paz Raymundo with seven children.

  • In 1953-1955, he became the director of School of Fine Arts at University of the Philippines.

  • In 1973, Tolentino was named National Artist for Visual Arts.

-measures 3.5 meters in height, symbolizing the 350 years of Spanish rule in the Philippines.
