  3. Gaining Access (Employees) • How do I go about registering for the fitness/wellness center? It’s 5 easy steps…. • Proof of current employment at the district via identification badge • View the PowerPoint presentation • View the orientation video • Fill out the registration waiver • Submit/turn in signed document

  4. Gaining Access (Students) • How do I go about registering for the fitness/wellness center? It’s 6 easy steps…. • Proof of active and current enrollment in physical education activity course • Current ASB sticker • View the PowerPoint presentation • View the orientation video • Fill out the registration waiver • Submit/turn in signed document Swipe your card on the reader located inside the entrance.

  5. Checking in • When you arrive, ask yourself: • Am I properly dressed? • Close toed shoes, athletic attire. • Do I have my district ID? • Do I have my towel? (mandatory) • Do I have water? Turn in your waiver here. Main Entrance Area

  6. Using the equipment • Watch the provided video for a brief description. • Become familiar with equipment before use. • Practice safety at all times. • Stop all exercise if you feel faint, sick or any other health issues arise. • Do not workout without supervision. • Practice proper alignment and progress at your pace.

  7. Treadmills • Step on and off by using the side platform. • Never increase the speed beyond your level of fitness. • Wipe down the machine after your use. • Report any issues immediately.

  8. Arc Trainers • Similar to the treadmill. • Machine electronics will start when you start moving. • Adjust your levels to your comfort. • Wipe down the machine upon your completion.

  9. Weight Equipment • Become familiar with the specific equipment before use. • Practice proper alignment at all times. • Be aware of the amount of weight that you are lifting and adjust accordingly to your fitness level. • Wipe down the machine after using.

  10. Side room • Dedicated room to stretching, core exercise and free weight lifting. • Please return all equipment to its station. • Please remove all weights from bar and replace on the racking system.

  11. Checking Out • Did you… • Log out? • Wipe down your equipment? • Return the equipment to its original state? • Report any issues?

  12. The Staff • SUPERVISORS OF THE FITNESS/WELLNESS CENTER FOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS ARE USUALLY NOT SPECIFICALLY EDUCATED IN FITNESS TRAINING OR IN MEDICAL EMERGENCY PROCEDURES. • THEREFORE, YOU ARE USING THIS FACILITY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Guidelines and Rules General Overview – Complete rules are presented on the waiver/release form. • Consult your physician prior to undertaking any new exercise program. • Please register each time you attend. • Keep hands and loose clothes away from the weight stacks, cables and pulleys. • No cellular phone use is allowed.

  14. Waiver and Release • This form is available on the website. • Please read and submit at or prior to your first participation.

  15. Mini Courses • Provided by center staff (time permitting) • 15-20 minute specialty courses will be started to assist you in your fitness level. • These will be provided by center staff • Examples • Stretching, abdominals, yoga techniques, core fitness, cross training.

  17. Lockers and Restrooms • See an equipment attendant if you desire a locker. • Women’s – Physical Education South • Men’s – Physical Education North • Closest restroom is located in each locker room area.

  18. Commonly Asked Question • What does my participation cost? • Nothing extra • What can I do to help the fitness center? • Respect the facility, staff and equipment • Return all equipment to a ready position • Purchase an ASB card each semester
