  2. What is letterhead? • A letterhead is the heading at the top of a sheet of letter paper. • It generally includes a name and address, and a logo or corporate design.

  3. Why do companies use letterhead? • Makes it easier when sending out letters. • All contact information is included at the top of the paper. • Visually appealing • Personalizes the letter • Can you think of any other reasons?

  4. What is a logo? • A logo is a special symbol associated with a product or a company. Logos generally take three different forms.

  5. Monogram logo • A stylized writing of the company’s initials or name.

  6. Visual Symbols • A visual symbol consists of line drawings of people, animals, or things.

  7. Abstract • An abstract logo consists of shapes that carry a visual message but are not representative of actual things

  8. Create your own! • Find a partner. • Pick a company out of the bag. • Create a letterhead for the company you have selected. • Feel free to look on the internet to see samples of other letterhead. • You can also use templates in Microsoft Word. Click on new and select templates. Choose the letter template and select letterhead on the right side scroll menu. • Save your letterhead to the USB. We will be sharing them with the class tomorrow!
