  2. Geography • Turkey is located North of the middle east and is bordered by 7 countries, Georgia, Armenia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Greece, and Bulgaria. It is over 485,029 miles in size. It's capitol is Ankara which has over 4,660,000 million people.

  3. People • There are 77 million people living in Turkey at the last census. • 99% of those people are Muslim. • The population is growing at a 1% increase. • Another name for a person from Turkey is a Turk.

  4. Landforms • The highest peak in Turkey is Greater Ararat at 16,854 feet. • The lowest point in Turkey is the Mediterranean Sea at 0 feet. • The biggest island in Turkey is Prince island

  5. Waterforms • Turkey is bordered by two seas, the Black Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea. • The longest river in Turkey is the Kizilirmak. • The biggest lake in Turkey is Lake Van stretching over 119 miles at some points.

  6. Entertainment • Soccer is the #1 sport in Turkey. Although basketball is becoming more and more popular every year. • The younger population in Turkey enjoy casinos and gambling all over Turkey. • There are also hundreds of miles of coastline in Turkey which means there are a lot of beach goers to.

  7. Food • Food in Turkey is eaten from very fresh ingredients because most of the ingredients they use are grown locally. • They have a large variety of different dishes that use a variety of vegetables and fruits

  9. Customs • It is rude to blow you nose or pick your teeth in public. • If someone asks you a yes or no question you would do one of the following: Yes: nod your head. No: Raise your head and eyebrows and say “tsk” I do not understand: Shake your head rapidly.

  10. Fun facts • You cannot hunt any animal on Sunday’s except for raccoons. • Youtube has been banned in all parts of Turkey after insults to the founding fathers of the country. • Turkey is actually part of two continents, Europe, and Asia. Thrace is in Europe and Anatolia is Asia.
