Page 1 • Data can be collected using capture from or questionnaire • Key disk is typing in data written on a questionnaire or from and saving it on disk • Verification ensures that data is accurately entered into the computer • Double entry verification when two people enter the data and check for mistakes • Methods of data collection include input screens, OMR, bar code readers

Page 2 • Validation checks help ensure that data has been input and stored on a computer is reasonable • Field check makes sure that the number of characters of data in a field is no longer than maximum • Format check makes sure that the data is expected format • Range check makes sure that data falls within a sensible range • Presence check makes sure that data that is required is entered

Page 3 • Internal output is for the audience within an organization • External output is for the audience outside the organization • Turnaround output is for the external audience but they add data to it and return it to the organization • Tables are very straightforward way of summarizing information and are often produced in spreadsheet

Page 4 • Pie diagram shows the relative importance of each component part of the information display • bar chart should have title and each axis and each bar should be labeled • Line graph should be used when the information on the horizontal scale is continuous • The timing of output affects its usefulness. Output should be up to date and produced quickly • Accessibility is affected by connection speed physical access and disability
