Internship • Worked in the Lunar Planetary Laboratory as Part of the Central Computing System (LCS) • Objective of the group is to support and enhance LPL abilities through appropriate communication and computer technologies • LCS is committed to furthering LPL’s research by maximizing computing productivity for system users

  3. Skills Acquired • Programming Experience - HTML - PHP - Java • Operating System Experience - Mac OS - Microsoft - Linux

  4. Skills Acquired • Technical Support Skills - Computer Security - Program and System Trouble shooting - Time Management - Task Allocations - Interpersonal Communications

Tasks and Projects • Tasks - Assisting in Computing Servicing - Person System Setup - Lunar Planetary Laboratory Webpage assistance and maintenance • Current Project - Assistance in reduction of undesired bulk emails (aka Spam ) - A Program was written that would help reduce the amount of unwanted emails sent to the department it replaces email addresses links and redirects the view to a Directory of faculty and Staff

  6. Project Continued • How it Works: - The program find address that have a direct link for emailing which are easy to send spam. - After these links are found they are replaced with just the user name instead of the email - finally it links the user name to directory of employees and staff
