  2. New ProQuest Platform Whole new interface “from ground up”. It is, however, a bit “buggy” and has malfunctioned and prevented access on multiple occasions (when we are teaching!) so beware… ProQuest has been notified and they are working on the problems. More graphical, interactive (social), intuitive Mobile search to come in 2nd half of 2011 “My Research” is “2.0” ish with sharing and tags Updated citation styles

My Research Reinvented • Manage saving/deleting and working with documents, figures & tables, email alerts, and RSS feeds across sessions • Create tags and shared lists • Edit preferences such as displaying by date or relevance, default citation format, how many records to display on results screen

  19. Folders in My Research • Create a My Research account and Log in to My Research to save documents. • Add folders to organize your documents. • Any documents that you add to My Research while signed in, are automatically saved when your session ends.

  20. Can add Notes to a record • Add your own notes to remind yourself of the class or purpose that article is for. The note becomes a field in that record.

  21. Search Alerts in My Researchget notified by email of search updates

  22. RSS feeds in My Researchcreate a feed to alert you of search updates

Tags in My Research • attach tags to documents • “people who tagged this” is visible to others if you choose to share – requires a public profile – stays within the “Proquest community” and can pull it back to private any time. • Can set time limits for tags • You can create tags without having a public profile, but you will need to create a profile if you want to share the tags you create.

Shared Lists • Select articles to put in a list • Faculty could create a reading list for students • Requires a public profile • Everyone in the ProQuest community can see those shared lists • Jump from one random found article into someone’s whole shared list • Can email creators of those lists

  25. Summary • More user friendly – kwic, preview, folders • Added searchability for tables & figures • More social – sharing lists and tags • Preferences available in My Research • Not completely tested. Expect bugs.
