  3. “What Should We Do With All This Space?”… The Teen Space Project is made possible with funding from the Camden County Library System, the South Jersey Regional Library Cooperative and the New Jersey State Library, which is responsible for the coordination, promotion and funding of the New Jersey Library Network.

  4. The Space • Approximately 1245 square feet • High visibility/Differentiated area • Affectionately known as “The Corner”

  5. Adults and Children Must Be Accompanied By A Teen!

  6. A uniquely designed space for our teen customers aged 12 – 18 • A “separate” space: • Wall and entrance with pocket doors • Windows/display cases on the façade • Staff Service Point in front • Internet computers • Bookshelves and Gondolas • Diner booths • Graffiti Wall and stage • Quiet study area • 52” flat screen tv, gaming equipment • ReadyAnimator, Digital Camera, and Camcorder. • Casual/comfy seating. • Lots of display room! (!!!) The Plan:

  10. What Our Teens Are Saying… “I’m flabbergasted! I love having the teen space here because it’s a place where we can be ourselves and adults aren’t there to judge us…” –Shivum B., Age 13 I think The Corner is relaxing and interesting. I could sit in there and do work for hours. –Mapule G., Age 17 “What makes the teen space great is that, in addition to the game systems and full internet access, it is just for teens.” –Vincent B., Age 14 The Corner is a great place for teens and kids to meet new people, read new books, relax, and use the computer (for research...or Facebook). –Penny A., Age 15 “I love The Corner! It’s so much fun- a library, but with attitude!!” –Amy P., Age 15 “The Corner is awesome- It gives the teens the ability to relax, play games, and read the books they want to read- and it’s a fantabulous hangout, too!” –Abby P., Age 15
