Napa County Your practicum must be submitted to the Napa County BTSA New Teacher Support Specialist as a condition of the program certifying your completion of program requirements for a Clear (Level II) Credential. A complete practicum indicates mastery of “Technology in Support of Student Learning” (Standard 16) and must include a response to each element of Standard 16 as described in the Standards of Quality and Effectiveness for Professional Teacher Induction Programs by Elements A-G as identified below. Each item must be initialed and dated either by your Support Provider, Site Administrator or the New Teacher Support Specialist (Barb Stoer) and documentation must be attached in either paper form or on a CD-ROM. Documentation should be identified by item number to correspond with the item number on this checklist.

  7. Documentation should be numbered to correspond with the item number on this checklist.

  8. Element A • E-mail your electronic address to Kathy Phelps at kphelps@ncoe.k12.ca.us annually.

  9. Element A 2. Complete the Consent Form (www.btsa.ca.gov) on-line at least once and print a receiptand include it in your practicum.

  10. Element A 3. Complete the Statewide Survey (www.btsa.ca.gov)on-line at least once and print a receipt and include it in your practicum.

  11. Element A 4. E-mail New Teacher Support Specialist (bstoer@nvusd.k12.ca.us)at least two Individual Induction Plans. (www.ncoe.k12.ca.us)

  12. Element A 5. Email two Activity Logs (available electronically on the NCOE website) to Barbara Stoer at bstoer@nvusd.k12.ca.us. (www.ncoe.k12.ca.us)

  13. Element A • Formerly, Annually, complete the on-line “My Proficiency Assessment” and My Technology Use Survey” at (http://ctap2/iassessment.org); print the status report once during each year of participation in the NCBTSA program and include it in your practicum.

  14. NOW. . .Each year, complete the on-line “Technology Assessment Profile” at (www.edtechprofile.org); print your Completion Details Status Report and include it in your practicum.

  15. Element A 7a. E-mail slides from a PowerPoint presentation for students or parents to your Support Provider or 7b. E-mail the address of posted website you have designed to your Support Provider.

  16. Element A • Respond in a timely manner to all NCBTSA e-mails requiring a response (e.g., complete surveys 2x/year). www.ncoe.k12.ca.us for the Mid-year Survey in January www.btsa.ca.gov for the Statewide Survey in the spring.

  17. Elements B, C and G 9. Design and teach a content standards-based lesson plan that integrates technology (e.g., video on demand). • E-mail the lesson plan to your Support Provider along with your reflection on the implementation of the lesson plan. See next slide for more. . .

  18. Include in your reflection:----The value of including technology in your lesson----Adaptations planned for the future, thenGet his/her reaction e-mailed to you andInclude the plan, your reflection, and your Support Provider’s reaction in your practicum.

  19. Elements B, C and G 10a. Locate the technology resources in the curricular focus area district-adopted materials for your grade level and discuss their application to your class with your Support Provider in a series of 2+ e-mails or

  20. 10b. E-mail the address of a discussion board from BTSA-recommended sites showing discussions in which you participated related to a professional issue.

  21. Element C 11. Include electronic resources in CFASST Event 7.

  22. Element C 12. Find an on-line lesson from a BTSA-recommended site and Teach the lesson and E-mail the lesson plan to your Support Provider along with your reflection on the implementation of the lesson plan including: See next slide for more. . .

  24. Elements D and E 13. Review www.ctap4.org/infolit/index.htm for information on the four components of information literacy: • Ask good questions • Find information • Evaluate information • Use information) and

  25. (1)E-mail to your Support Provider one lesson that directly teaches students one of the four components of information literacy and . . .

  26. (2) A bookmark file or web page of sites used by your students to practice the skill to enhance learning and. . .(3 and 4) Two lessons showing reinforcement of the skill and. . .

  27. (5)Your reflection on the lessons including what you learned about what students can do and(6) Your Support Providers reflection on the lessons.

  28. Elements F and G • Print or copy to a CD and share with your Support Provider (1) five (5) printouts from a grade book program spreadsheet or other electronic record-keeping program including: (2) A class summary of the focus content area after at least one quarter or trimester of instruction and

  29. (3) One chart of data for the whole class or instructional group and(4) A detailed report for one studentand(5)A description of how the data was used or a report generated to communicate with the parent or guardian of that student and

  30. (6) Two different ways to display the same data for a group of students and (7) an evaluation of the usefulness of different views and(8)Your reflection on the value of using technology for this purpose.
