  1. Seven Letters to Seven Churches Having Faith That Conquers Revelation 2-3 August 29, 2010

  2. To the one who conquers: Ephesus – I will grant to eat of the tree of life… Smyrna – will not be hurt by the second death… Pergamum – I will give some of the hidden manna… Thyatira - to him I will give authority over the nations…

  3. To the one who conquers: Sardis – will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life… Philadelphia – I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Laodicea – I will grant him to sit with me on my throne…

  4. Conquerors = Those “in” Christ • John 6:38-40 • John 10:27-29 • Romans 8:1 and 28-38 • Philippians 1:6 Is there a “kind” of faith that doesn’t persevere?

  5. John 8:31-32 31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

  6. Colossians 1:22-23 22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.

  7. 1 Peter 1:3-4 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,

  8. 1 Peter 1:5 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

  9. 1 Peter 1:6-7 6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

  10. 1 Peter 1:8-9 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

  11. Conquering Faith • Is focused on Jesus Christ. • Is not an event, it is continuous. Next Series Following Jesus: One Step at a Time Gospel of Luke
