  13. When defining goals and options you need to investigate: • Are people committed and intereste in reaching the goals? • Old habits and communication styles • Two steps forward and one back • Encouraging and discouraging thoughts • Define what will replace old habits Working with obstacles

  16. Introduce the activity to practice using the GROW model. This will require at least 30 minutes to give enough time for each person to have a go. (see worksheet with questions) • Divide into TRIOs. • Each person to identify a topic they would like coaching on using the GROW model. • The observer makes notes on the conversation in relation to how well the mentor uses rapport building skills, listening and questioning skills.
