  2. Activity • Students will create a poem using personification. • Students will use nature-oriented nouns to write a poem about nature. • Students will use action verbs to describe the nature words.

  3. Directions • Choose a nature-noun from List A or another nature-noun. • Type your nature-noun. • Choose an action verb from List B or another verb or your choice. • Type your action verb you have chosen next to your nature-noun (you may need to change your verb for subject-verb agreement). • Continue choosing nature-nouns and verbs to complete your poem. • To make your poem interesting, add adjectives, adverbs, prepositional phrases, etc. • Be creative!

  4. Example stone listens • Then expand your words into a sentence. The stone listens carefully to the grass as it grows around it. • Continue this process to form your poem.
