  5. Why did the battle occur? Stonewall Jackson lead the army of Northern Virginia to attack Washington D.C. and where met in the middle at Bull Run. He was met by the army of the potomac.

  6. What happened? It was Robert E. Lee’s most brilliant campaign . Lincoln commanded the Union back up North, two days later Lincoln summoned Gen. Henry W. Halleck. The Battle of Bull Runs flag

  8. Statistics John Pope was handicapped by a Confederate sharp shooter. Jackson died at the end of the Civil War

  10. Fun Facts Union had 200,000 Troops, 89,199 walked out alive. Confederate had 85,000 troops , 65,000 walked out alive.
