  • How is electromagnetic radiation different? How about trying to tune in a radio station on your TV?

  • Light & radio waves are both E.M. radiation, but each has properties that make it useful for some specific purpose.


  • Characteristics of EM Waves How about trying to tune in a radio station on your TV?

    • All Electromagnetic (EM) waves travel at the same speed

    • All EM waves travel in wavelengths

    • Each EM wave travels at different frequencies.


  • Transverse Wave How about trying to tune in a radio station on your TV?

    • Crest-Highest point of a transverse wave.

    • Trough-Lowest point of a transverse wave.
