Premise • The district is the nexus for educational improvement. • A DAIT team of county office education or other organizational leaders provide targeted technical assistance and support to Program Improvement districts in Corrective Action (Year 3). • Currently DAIT is a pilot program with volunteer districts.

  3. Process • District Self-examination • Student achievement data • CDE tools (DAS, APS, LRE, ELSSA) • Comprehensive Needs Assessment • 3-5 leverage points/priorities • Action Plan for each leverage point • Implementation and monitoring for educational improvement

DAIT Strands - The Guiding Standards • Governance and Leadership • Build a district plan incorporating DAS elements, state initiatives, research-based practices • Alignment of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment • Optimize students’ access to standards based instruction • Fiscal Operations • Align resources with student outcomes and high impact instructional goals

DAIT Strands - The Guiding Standards • Parent and Community Involvement • Implement two-way communication and programs in support of students’ academic success • Human Resources • Recruit, select support strong site leadership and highly qualified teachers • Data Systems and Achievement Monitoring • Provide and support data management systems to monitor student achievement progress • Professional Development • Provide coherent, research based professional development

  7. DAIT Pilot Outcomes • DAIT Strands will be better aligned to strengthen district infrastructure. • District resources will be allocated more effectively. • COE capacity to support districts will increase. • Student Achievement will improve.
