With more and more cities getting connected, there is an increasing need for using traffic control technologies that help in creating communication standards and a patchwork of components with different degrees of interoperability. A lot of studies have been connected to figure out ways and means to coordinate these technologies. At the same time, the demand for an immediate solution has grown among the residents. A solution that helps in the efficient and effective movement of transit vehicles quickly and safely. This demand is now being fulfilled by the ​traffic light priority device that ensures smooth movement of vehicles, including emergency vehicles. While communities are choosing a ​preemption detector​, it is essential to consider both short-and-long-term technologies that are sure to deliver the best performance and value.
