  1. Computerized Information System for a Supermarket By Dhanesha and Iman (:

  2. What is a Computerized Information System? • Are system that help you to use to computers to do a particular job. • I.E. For a supermarket, the system allows us to find a specific object, with all its details; price model number etc. • We chose supermarket computerized information system because we have seen how they work and how they locate their products rather than going through the entire stock.

  3. Advantages && Disadvantages Advantages + Disadvantages - Reduces effort from workers And saves time to find products, thus customers don’t waste time. Improves efficiency Reduces errors If the product is unavailable you can find out if its in another market. If there is power failure, the details are unreachable. It is complicated at first to use, and must need training. Security is necessary. Hardware is expensive. Risk of hackers and viruses. With the use of computers, the workers tend to get lazy and don’t memorize the details, they rely on the system.

  4. The Community;why do you think CIS are good? • “they are more accurate, they give better customer service, and helps in decision making” – Zahid • “it is easy to locate the product, to know whether its in stock. If something is finish they would know when to order it” –Saadia • “It makes staff lazy and not bothered to learn anything but it saves us time. –Sanjay • “Its easier for us and we don’t need to spend time finding the stock. At least with machines, if the staff doesn’t know anything they can just check” -Karina

  5. Interviewing the workers; • We interviewed one worker about what she thinks about CIS. • This is how it went: • “Hello can you please answer a few questions about computer information systems?” • “what are computer information systems?” • “for example when you need to find a product you just check on the computer instead of list” • “oh yes, that make it easy. Now can you please leave, you're holding up the line!”

  6. CIS Comparison of communities /opinions. Bur Dubai Springs Some places don’t have computerized systems. We think that they should develop their systems because whenever we buy from their stores it wastes time on then searching for the products, and some times it isn't even in stock! Also, they can have miscalculations. It is also harder to return wrong products because the receipt sucks. However, some stores do know what products are out of stock because they keep track. The springs have only computerized systems and no other system. They have cool, easy to keep in wallet, receipts. It doesn’t waste much time because they check the computer However, the workers are very lazy and don’t bother learning what's it stock or not. Sometimes they don’t use the computer. They go check themselves or ask their colleagues which is annoying to customers because they’re not doing their job.
