  2. What is It? An adaptive web-based application that can be used with any course

  3. What Will It Do? • Modular user-configurable system • Generate adaptive quizzes & tests • Provides score tracking • Reports to provide feedback to instructors • Customized tutorials based on quiz scores

Feature Overview: User Profiles • All users will have a personal login and profile • Customizable features to provide flexibility to users • Two types of profiles: • Teacher profile allows configuration of testing, grading and reporting features • Student profile allows limited configuration of appearance & reporting features

Feature Overview: Quizzing/Testing • Adaptive Quizzing/Testing • Test questions ranked by difficulty • Questions increase or decrease in difficulty • Questions can have a variety of formats • Additional abilities can be added later • Traditional Quizzing/Testing • Specific set of questions selected by the teacher

  6. Feature Overview: Tutorials • Adaptive Tutorials • Configured and categorized by teacher • Generated from test results • Customized help for student’s problem areas • Traditional Tutorial • Static help for a particular topic

  7. Feature Overview: Grade Book • Possible features: • Track quiz scores • Track other grades such as off-line assignments • Configuration of: • Different grading mechanisms • Type of grades that are viewable by students

  8. Feature Overview: Reporting • Teacher • Report of potential problem areas for students • Grade Reporting for online quizzes/tests • Student • View their quiz/test grades • View class ranking

Advantages of the Adaptive On-line Learning Facilitator • Adaptive quizzes & tests provide better feedback about a student’s abilities • Greater reporting mechanisms allow instructors to tailor their lessons more accurately to their student’s needs • Time Saver! Customized tutorials help students focus their study time more effectively
