Activities: • Soil, geomorphology and terrestrial environment mapping in Admiralty Bay; • Aerophotographic survey/georreferencing; • Ornithogenic soils; • Bioremediation experiments; • Heavy metal contamination; • Carbon stocks and dynamics; • Pedogenesis; • Melting water monitoring; • Sulfide oxidation; • Soil-vegetation relationships.

DATABASE • > 75 soil pits – chemical, physical, mineralogical and micromorphologial characteristics; - Aerial photographs; - background levels for heavy metals in soils and sediments; - Carbon Stocks; - Plant composition; - Water parameters; - Microbiological isolation, bioremediation of hydrocarbons • Georreferenced database; • Tematic mapping (soils, vegetation, geomorphology, pollution, etc.); • Permafrost depth; • Digital Image Database

  6. Aerial Photographs: • Hasselblad 530 EX; • suport adaptation; • Altitude and speed control - 60% overlapping along the line and 40% between lines - Stereoscopy; • 99 ground control points; • Lenses calibration; • Digital mosaics
