  3. Meet the Coaching Staff • Head Coach: Brian Shepherd • Asst. Coach: Kira Tucker • Coaches Aide: Sam Camblin • Coaches Aide: Ella Kelsay

  4. Objectives Of The Program ≠ + • 1. To provide basic competitive swimming skills. (Participants should already have basic beginning swimming skills.) • 2. To provide a SAFE, fun and positive atmosphere. • 3. Provide opportunities for participants to develop their swimming skills through organized training and self-discipline. • 4. Allow participants to gain self-esteem and confidence through personal accomplishments.

  5. Swim Team Prerequisites Registration is open to individuals, ages 5½ to 18 and must have completed the American Red Cross swimming ability equivalent to ourFish class(no exceptions can be made). Participants must be able to perform, with some proficiency, the following strokes: freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. • 5½ to 8 years old - MUST be able to swim continuously for 25 yards freestyle with rotary breathing AND 25 yards of backstroke • 9 to 18 years old - MUST be able to swim continuously for 50 yards freestyle with rotary breathing AND 50 yards of backstroke

  6. Practice Schedule West Chandler Hammerheads practice at Nozomi Aquatic Center Monday through Thursday 5½ to 10 7:45-8:35 p.m. 11 to 18 8:35-9:25 p.m. Practice begins June 4th! IMPORTANT: Swimmers are asked to arrive 10 minutes early for practice to stretch and warm-up. Attendance and participation at practice is highly recommended, but not mandatory.

Important Dates • Practice begins June 4th! • Team swimsuit fitting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 6 from 7:15-9 p.m.. • T-shirts are optional for participants to purchase – orders must be submitted no later than Saturday, June 10. • Team and individual pictures are scheduled on Thursday, June 15. All swimmers are asked to be at Nozomi Aquatic Center no later than 7:30 p.m. (practice will be held with a special start/turn clinic). • SWIM TEAM PARTY Saturday, July 14 from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. at Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center.

  9. Parents- we need your help! PARENT VOLUNTEER GROUP It is important that the parents of the participants become involved in their child's swim team experience. Both programs have parent volunteer groups. These volunteers will be responsible for assisting at home swim meets as: judges, timers (best seat in the house), starter, clerk of the course, etc. In order for this team to be successful, a strong parent-volunteer group is needed!

  10. Introducing our new look We will have a new look this year! We have created a new image for our Summer Swim Team. With this change, the Hammerheads will have the opportunity to purchase team swimsuits, swim caps, and T-shrits.
