  2. Some Introductory Definitions Caliphate – a (the) Sacred Muslim State.Islamist – adherent of radical Islamic ideology. Jihad – Holy War. Also a “personal struggle.” Kafir– non-believer of Islam; hated by Allah. Sharia – Allah’s Islamic law from Mohammed. Terrorism – violence against civilian targets by non-traditional fighters for political purposes. Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  3. A reason for being here -- Sharia at work. . . Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  4. What is Sharia? • It is Allah’s Sacred Islamic law; all based on the Koran and the Hadith (Mohammed’s sayings). • It rules all aspects of life -- politics, economics, banking, business/contract law, social issues such as marriage/divorce, child rearing, custody, sexuality, sin and crime. • Public & private life is treated the same, no separation between “mosque & state.” [Darwish, p. 4] Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  5. Islamists Seek World Domination Islam & Sharia believed to be supreme.Do you want to be ruled by sharia? Do you believe they seek our overthrow? Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  6. Democracy or Islam? • They seem friendly enough; • Well, maybe not… Sharia anyone? • Think they want to give us a choice? Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  7. Sharia Law is for Everyone Whether we want it or not! Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  8. We have a choice: Sharia, or human rights and freedom. . . A wrong choice can be deadly. . . Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  9. Two examples of freedom Personal freedom and Sharia are mutually exclusive – just compare these ladies . . . 9 9 Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  10. The beginnings of Sharia (a) • Early life in Arabia was tribal, rough and cutthroat. Tribes often attacked each other for wealth & slaves. • Force was used to get people to surrender and submit. • Mohammed exploited these notions as “divine.” • He exempted himself from laws of non-Islamic states. • After his death, the caliphs were unable to rule with the same authority he did; he was a prophet, they weren’t. This led to problems. [Darwish, p. 194] Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  11. The beginnings of Sharia (b) • For about 100 years after Mohammed’s death, the caliphate leaders lost control -- a time of civil wars, assassinations, revolutions, and mass killings. • To save Islam, Mohammed’s “divine rules” from the Koran and Hadith were codified into a totalitarian code of law built around total submission to Allah; with the penalty of death, amputation, flogging, and stoning used for enforcement.[Darwish, pp. 20-21] Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  12. The beginnings of Sharia (c) Today, Islamists use Sharia to spread their religion, culture, and politics around the world as they have done for the past 1400 years. [Darwish, pp. 20-21] Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  13. Sharia Today (a) • These Sharia laws give caliphs and Muslim leaders near absolute power over Muslim subjects (and non-Muslims too because of their superiority clauses…) • Sharia gives Muslim leaders tremendous power, even if unjust, because it is “written” in the Sharia. [Darwish, p. 194] Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  14. Sharia Today (b) • Even when partially applied, Sharia results in tyranny and dictatorships. • Sharia is a dictator’s dream handed to him by Allah. • Sharia provides an ideal system for dictatorships to function under, either obey or be killed, per Allah. [Darwish, p. 192] Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  15. Sharia Today (c) • Islam’s top priority is to impose Sharia upon all states, under an elaborate legal, social, political, and religious system. A Sharia state is an Islamic state. [Darwish, p. 193] • Muslim leaders abide by Sharia’s harsh laws while absolving themselves from blame for their application -- they can say, “I did not create harsh laws, Allah did.” [Darwish, p. 192] Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  16. An Islamist Quote: Tantawi Muhammad Sayyid al Tantawi, president of Al Azhar Univ. approves killing & maiming of Jews, Christians and other infidels. He said: “This is not my personal view. This what the Shari’a Law says, the law of Allah, the only valid law on the earth.” [http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/8066] Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  17. Abdul Maududi, highly-respected Islamic thinker had this to say: “Islam wishes to destroy all states and governments (…) opposed to the ideology and programme of Islam (…) Islam requires (…) the whole planet (…) because (…) mankind should benefit from the ideology and welfare programme [of Islam] (...)the objective of the Islamic ‘Jihad’ is to eliminate the rule of an un-Islamic system and establish in its stead an Islamic system of state rule.”[Wikipedia: Sayeed Abdul A’laMaududi, Jihad in Islam, p. 6] Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  18. Is the book a reliable source of Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh)?Let’s take a look . . . Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  19. A Respected Source of Islamic law:“The Reliance of the Traveller” d1.3 (O: Reliance means that which is depended upon, since the author meant that this text should be a reliable resource work for whoever goes by it, because it contains the most dependable positions of the school and omits the weak ones. Traveler(…) [meaning] to proceed along, the allusion being to the spiritual journey, meaning one’s seeking knowledge of the rules of religion with seriousness and effort, to thereby reach Allah Most High and be saved from perdition. [The Reliance of the Traveller] Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  20. Intro to the “Reliance” (a) (…) The Reliance of the Traveler, represents one of the finest and most reliable short works in Shafi’i jurisprudence, a school with perhaps fewer scholarly differences on rulings than others because its main resource is the recension (a critical revision of a text using the most plausible elements) of Imam Nawawi (…) (Nawawi -- the great 13th-century Shafi’i hadith scholar and jurisprudent who upgraded the work of previous generations in terms of the authenticity and application of hadith evidence(…)) Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  21. Intro to “Reliance” (b) (…) the emphasis of the book is on the path we now travel, to paradise or hell, and it is this that unites the work and determines the relative importance of the questions treated (…) regarding ablution, for example (…) The authors (…) and their positions do represent the orthodox Muslim intellectual and spiritual heritage that has been the strength of the Community for over a thousand years, and the means through which Allah has preserved His religion, in its purest and fullest sense, to the present day (…) [The Reliance of the Traveller] Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  22. Some points to consider… • It is Labeled “The Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law;” Printed in English at Beltsville, Maryland. This means that the book is “still In play.” [John Guandolo] • Approved by al-Azhar, Islamic Research Academy, highly recognized by Islamic world. • Approved by Dr. Taha Jabir al-Alwani, Pres. of the International Institute of Islamic Thought, Member of the Islamic Fiqh Academy at Jedda(Saudi Arabia), and Pres. of the Fiqh Council of North America (which oversees all Muslim Brotherhood activities). Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  23. The Muslim Brotherhood (a) • The MB co-opts our leaders into believing an un-true view of Islam & MB, and then coerces these leaders to enforce the MB’s directives upon their subordinates. • Most major Muslim organizations in the USA are controlled by the MB. They are factually hostile to the U.S. and its Constitution. • The MB’s end objective is world-wide sharia, and re-establishment of the global caliphate. Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  24. The Muslim Brotherhood (b) • MB is leader of Islamic movement throughout the world; by far the strongest and most organized. • They are supremist – everyone is to be subjugated under Sharia law. • Long-term goal is to destroy all non-Islamic civilizations using non-violent, subversive methds to make Islam victorious over all religions and societies. MB and al-Qaeda objectives are same! Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  25. The Muslim Brotherhood (c) The MB’s objective is a kind of grand jihad to: eliminate and destroy our Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s (Allah's) religion is made victorious over all other religions.[Emphasis added] Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  27. Muslim Lady with “Children” I saw her standing there and I told her she had three beautiful children. She didn't have to get all pissed off and threaten me with Jihad. It was an honest mistake. [Thanks to Don Alvarez] Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  28. Muslim mass wedding – who is who? The men are all smiles. I wonder if the women are??? http://www.hotheads.com.au/ban the burqa.htm Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx

  29. Which one is his wife? Maybe four of them, plus one “honey” Four wives is okay per Sharia. http://www.hotheads.com.au/ban the burqa.htm Sharia-Details-P1-Intro.pptx
