In February 2009, Congress appropriated funding in ARRA for the modernization of the Nation's land ports of entry (LPOE) and in support of economic recovery efforts. Modernization plans include:Enhancing technology and infrastructure at LPOEsHelping CBP meet its border security mission while continuing to facilitate legitimate travel and trade.$420 Million appropriated for CBP-owned LPOEs will be used for:Design/Build construction at 24 29981

    2. 2 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Overview In February 2009, Congress appropriated funding in ARRA for the modernization of the Nation’s land ports of entry (LPOE) and in support of economic recovery efforts. Modernization plans include: Enhancing technology and infrastructure at LPOEs Helping CBP meet its border security mission while continuing to facilitate legitimate travel and trade. $420 Million appropriated for CBP-owned LPOEs will be used for: Design/Build construction at 24 sites Repairs & Alterations to existing LPOEs

    7. American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Repair and Alteration Projects 7 CBP will also conduct repair and alteration projects at 41 of the CBP-owned LPOEs. These improvements will include: Security enhancements and port hardening Site utilities and Infrastructure enhancements Emergent repairs Mission enhancements
