  1. 3/5 Bell Ringer 12 Homework: REVIEW PACKET!!!! 2 minutes for today’s bell ringer: Who is your role model? Why? Grab a calculator and a letter A card and a coordinate plane

  2. 3/5 News and Notes • Perfection Award: 3rd Period • REMEMBER: HAWKEYE IS TUESDAY!!!!! • Hand in Bell Ringers

  3. 3/5 Agenda • I CAN find scale factor or coordinates of an image after the pre-image with non-origin center is dilated. • 1. Intro to New Material – Step by Step • 2. ABCDE Activity

  4. Example • A triangle has coordinates (2,2) (2,4) and (4,3). It is dilated by a scale factor of 2 with center (1,1). What are the coordinates of the image? • Step 1: Take point, find difference between point and center. • 2 – 1 = 1, 2 – 1 = 1 • Step 2: Apply scale factor to these distances • 1(2) = 2, 1(2) = 2 • Step 3: Add these numbers to the center • 2 + 1 = 3, 2+1 = 3 • Step 4: Represent as an ordered pair • (3,3)

  5. A, B, C, D, and E • DO NOT WRITE ON CARDS OR SLIPS OF PAPER • Working on your own until told to do otherwise. • Everyone starts at letter A (pass out A) • Move at your own pace • When you finish A, get up and take back supplies and trade for B supplies. • Everyone should get through B today. • Some should get through C, some through D, and you’re an all-star if you get through E.

  6. Station A Take out yesterday’s independent practice problems • Check your answers (or do the problems) based on these hints: • #7: Remember, scale factor = image divided by pre-image. • #8: A scale factor of -1 tells us the size won’t change, but we need to rotate 180 degrees. • #9: If the scale factor is ½ that means our image should be smaller than the pre-image. Hint: (5, 0)  (2.5, 0). • Once you have this worksheet 100% complete, walk it up to Mr. C and check your answers against the answer key. If all correct move on to B.
