What is brainstorming

What is “Brainstorming?”

  • “Creative thinking.”

  • “an effective way to generate lots of ideas on a specific issue and then determine which idea – or ideas – is the best solution.”

What is vocabulary

What is “vocabulary”?

According to answers.com, vocabulary is:

  • “Words of a Language”

  • A collection of words

  • “A repertoire [stock or supply]” that supports meaningful communication”

Link between brainstorming and vocabulary?

You must have a vocabulary

to brainstorm and express your creative thoughts.


Why brainstorm

Why Brainstorm?

  • To come up with writing ideas

  • To come up with speech ideas

  • To learn to use appropriate vocabulary to express your creative imagination

  • To keep the brain/mind agile and engaged. The brain is a muscle that can atrophy (lose its strength) as can any muscle that is not conditioned or used regularly.

Scattergories

Scattergories is a word game of categories that can be played with 2-6 players that are pitched against a timer.

The objective of the game is to score the most points by correctly naming the object in each category beginning with a given initial.

The game is played in three rounds, after which a winner is declared. Scattergories is suggested for ages 12 and upwards.
