Documenting Controlled Medications • When you administer a controlled medication you must document how much of that medication remains • All controlled medications must be counted and the count documented at the beginning of each shift or whenever responsibility for the controlled medication is transferred from one staff member to another Recertification Review Guide, Unit 4
