Shared Service Centre - ICT • Deans of faculties and UB plan to integrate their ICT departments with Shared Service Centre (SSC) – ICT • Formal intention of deans to reorganize announced end May • IB has decided that ISS should also participate in this process: strengthens ISS position & that of our employees • Aim is to decrease systems vulnerability, use advantages of scale • IB’s decision is first step in the process: meeting held with OLITS staff • Reorganization proposal will follow and this will be dealt with in accordance with EUR reorganization code • University council level with reference to institute council via ISS member of the University Council • Also look at possible collaboration with UB: not a formal intention to reorganize at this stage • Remains ISS decision what level of cooperation with SSC

Operational management 2013 • Operational management 2013 (Bedrijfsvoering 2013 – BV 2013) • Major program of projects for the entire EUR support organisation: increase quality by improved systems, processes & more support for support staff • Led by Bart Straatman (Executive Board) & approved by Deans (including ISS rector) • 6 program areas: • Teaching & Research; • Marketing & Communication • HR & Organisation; • ICT & business process support; • Management Information & Finance; • Campus Services (Woudenstein)

Operational management 2013 (BV 2013) • Teaching & Research • Teaching – e.g. student information system, automated timetabling (including rooms), evaluations, teaching products etc • Research e.g.research information systems, grant & project support systems etc • Marketing & Communication • E.g. Corporate communication, research marketing, teaching marketing etc • HR & Organisation • Talent management e.g. training, talent market place, remuneration policy & incentives • Internationalisation eg. Support for ex pats e.g. housing in Rotterdam, support with legal requirements • E-HR: greater use of automation e.g. holiday registration, multiple choice model but also facilities to support time reporting for projects • ICT & Business process support • Technical infrastructure, servers, work place, IT Architecture • Management information (MI) & finance • MI: covers info on teaching, research, personnel as well as finance • Finance: invoice workflows, intra EUR charges, monthly closing & reporting • Campus services • Audio visual teaching environment, study & library facilities, Woudenstein campus renovation

BV 2013 • Some projects are very interesting for ISS in particular • HR projects important for all employees • ISS participation: • Previously via action groups: Michel Wesseling, Paul Huber, Leonie de Wilde, Renée de Louw • Future: participation in project teams: coordinated via HOTO’s • General contacts : Renée de Louw (also member of HR steering committee) • Lunch meeting with Bart Straatman in small aula on June 22nd. • All support staff are invited, however anyone is welcome to register.
