  2. A memory card is one of the smallest and useful products. It plays an important role in our devices, like phones, cameras, and laptops. Speaking of laptops, they too are very sensitive and fragile, and when you combine a laptop and a memory card, one have to be careful while handling these as one unit. Inappropriate usage of memory card can damage not only the card but the laptop as well. HP support has provided some guidelines that are given below on how to use memory cards in laptops properly, without bringing any harm to the both of the products.

  3. Insert the memory card safely and properly in the Card Reader • Instantly after inserting the card, a pop-up Autoplay window will appear on your screen. You can also access the card through your file explorer • To see the contents in the memory card, click on SD card icon on your file explorer window. • When you want to disconnect the device from your laptop it is recommended that you must use safe removal rather than the quick removal. • To safely remove the device, close down all the windows and then go towards the lower-right corner your screen, there will be memory device icon, click on it and select “Eject”. • Then carefully remove your card from the card reader slot.

  4. For further use, you must change the card removal policy from quick removal to safely remove hardware. To do so, steps are given below: • Drag your pointer towards the lower left corner of your screen and right click. • Select device manager from the drop-down list • Double-click on the disk drives to expand the window.

  5. Go to drive devices and right-click to display a drop-down menu • Click policies in the properties window • Select “Safe Removal” and click “OK”.
