  1. ROOM ADDITIONS

  2. Building Greener Futures On a visit to a rainforest I discovered a tiny frog called the coqui. Just two inches big, his nocturnal song fills the air with his own name “ko-kee, ko-kee.” According to legend the words mean “I love you.” He sings to attract a mate and renew the cycle of life. But frogs’ lives are in trouble. Globally, frog populations have sharply decreased in the last three decades. More than 120 frog species are already extinct just since the 1980s. Because their unique skin takes in water and oxygen, they warn us when the environment is sick. Frogs are dying from epidemic disease and are found with deformities such as multiple or missing limbs. They are affected by pollutants in the air, land and water as well as global warming and UV-B radiation from our depleted ozone layer. Nino Vitale Founder & C.E.O.TEMO, Incorporated Why care about the frogs? Frogs are vital to people. Chemicals from their skin provide numerous medicines and help in cancer research. Their absence is also a critical threat to global biodiversity – a serious break in the ecosystem that affects all living things. That’s why TEMO takes a personal responsibility for a greener planet. Our E4 Structural Thermal Panel can be 100 percent recycled. The OSB wood surface is organic, grown through renewable forestry practices. And our EPS insulation core is Energy Star-rated with a low environmental impact in production. These include climate change, stratospheric ozone depletion, ecotoxicity and fossil fuel depletion. I want the coqui frog to continue its love song. Even more, I want a healthy planet for our children and generations to come. Let’s do it together.

  3. What is e4? The E’s of e4

  4. Good for the Environment. Made of wood products and high-density expanded polystyrene, all materials can be recycled. Sustainable practices are used in manufacturing OSB that include renewing wood resources, respecting forestry through maintaining water quality, wildlife habitats and soil productivity and minimizing and recycling waste. EPS is recognized for its low impact on the environment in areas such as climate change, stratospheric ozone depletion, ecotoxicity and fossil fuel depletion.

  5. Good for your Health.Compared to standard insulation materials such as fiberglass, ISO foam and cellulose, expanded polystyrene (EPS) is the Health Smart choice. It is solid, nonporous and moisture resistant, preventing mold and insect infestation. Unlike fiberglass, EPS will not release carcinogens through fiber emissions that carry the risk of potentially serious respiratory and other health conditions. Compared to ISO foam, EPS also will not out gas toxins, such as formaldehyde. EPS provides no danger to humans during manufacturing or in handling during construction.

  6. Reducing Air Pollution The solution to reducing or removing indoor air pollution is to build a tight but well-ventilated home, where the ventilation is under your control.  Homes built with e4 thermal panels will easily achieve a tight and superior thermal blanket and an air exchanger can easily repel stale and polluted indoor air as well as bring in fresh air from the outdoors. Just the simple act of opening your windows and doors can greatly increase indoor air quality.

  7. Reducing Noise Pollution Due to the continuous air sealing and tightness of insulation, SIP homes can reduce and even eliminate much unwanted outdoor clatter. This greatly increases the quality of sleep for homeowners, a crucial component to physical and mental well-being.

  8. 96x thicker than a coffee cup Green - Saves Energy. The panel’s integrated EPS insulation core creates a 100% thermal barrier, effectively blocking cold-air infiltration into the home and heat transfer. From the inside, your conditioned air is blocked from escaping. Both functions provide significant energy savings without reduction of performance over time. A coffee cup is only 1/16" thick and you can hold water in it that is over 200 degrees. Imagine the thermal protection from a wall 96x thicker!

  9. Excellent R-Values. 8” roof panel:R-value 31.6 with a 100% thermal barrier. 6” wall and deck panel:R-value 24.3 with a 100% thermal barrier. Unlike fiberglass, ISO foam and cellulose, EPS won’t shrink, absorb or retain moisture which reduces R-values and thermal performance.

  10. All-in-One Mega Panels The Next Generation of Construction. Sheeting, joists, studs, trusses are combined in one solid panel, up to 4’ x 24’ widths. With everything built right in, panels are ready to use, with no pre-framing required, making installation simple and faster. Electrical raceways are also conveniently integrated.

  11. All-in-One Mega Panels The Next Generation of Construction. • Reduced Labor Costs • Cleaner Job Site • No Fiberglass Insulation Mess • Reduces HVAC ductwork • Pre-Engineered to Limit Job-Site Cutting • Internal Electrical Channels for Easy Installation

  12. Superior Value.Panels are built in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility which controls quality and costs. Although per-panel costs are higher than conventional materials, overall job costs are significantly reduced by eliminating multiple construction steps and the additional labor to complete them.

  13. 1. The Facings The Anatomy of e4 Thermal Panels The two outer skins consist of oriented strand board (OSB). OSB is used since it is available in large dimensions and has had many successful structural tests performed. Structural testing is important not only for personal safety but also where strict building codes have been implemented. 2. The Core The core of e4 thermal panels are made from expanded polystyrene (EPS), the same product used in coolers and coffee cups. This provides a 100% thermal barrier and the necessary R - value to protect us from the harshest of elements. 3. Adhesives The adhesive in e4 thermal panels join the facings and the insulating core together. Our adhesives resist moisture penetration, prevent panel delamination, and resist the forces of buckling and racking. 4. Treatment The e4 thermal panels are coated with TEMGuard to stop mold and mildew growth and prevent insect infestation.

  14. The Benefits of Straight Wall Construction If you have ever looked down the length of a stud wall or a piece of dimensional lumber, you will often notice it twists, curves, twists, cups, and bulges. This is often due to moisture penetration, poor storing conditions, and/or inferior quality of lumber. E4 panels don’t do this. We guarantee that you will receive a superior e4 Additoin, one with walls that are square and straight. Why is this important? As any builder can attest, non-straight dimensional lumber can negatively impact any stage of the building process.

  15. The Benefits of Solid Wall Construction e4 walls have a continuous wood surface that is crucial for a solid nail-base for both exterior and interior finishes. This is an important feature since the drywall contractor no longer has to search for studs to place fasteners and screws. This allows drywall contractors to complete the work faster and easier resulting in a less expensive and superior final finish. Interior finishes such as cabinetry, moldings, flooring, and others can be much easier installed on e4 walls than stud walls since there is a continuous attachment surface. This allows greater design for cabinet makers since they are no longer constrained to expansions ending with studs. Heavy picture frames can be installed anywhere on SIP walls and are not limited to stud structures behind the drywall.

  16. The Benefits of Treated Wall Construction E4 panels are coated with a special product called TEMGuard. This coating protects the panels from mold and mildew growth as well as insect infestation. We gave it a green color to make sure the entire panel was coated giving you a visual peace of mind that your new addition will be protected from the elements. The EPS Foam is also treated to stop insect infestation Our lamination process used a unique bonding agent that will protect the panel from delamination.

  17. The Benefits of Solid Wall Construction The standard SIP - as its name suggests - is the typical configuration. This SIP is composed of the foam insulating core sandwiched between two OSB facings and bonded with urethane glue. These SIPs are used as load bearing walls and as roof insulation. These SIPs can be used to completely enclose a home or building and can partition individual rooms if desired.Temo e4 room additions, makes extremely versatile SIPs. In fact, sheetrock, wood, vinyl siding, and other construction materials can be applied directly to the facings to result in a fast, efficient, and superior finished wall.
