Hera wanted to get rid of Leto so she pushed her out of Olympus and sent a serpent to chase her. Zeus saved her by sending her to the sea. When Leto gave birth to the twins, Artemis and Apollo, they grew quickly, became very strong and were always protecting their mother. When Apollo was 4 days old, he slayed the serpent that chased his mother out of Olympus.

  9. Niobe, the Greek goddess, boasted that she was more successful then Leto because she had 7 sons and 7 daughters. When the twins heard this, they killed all but one of Niobe’s children. Leto and the twins returned to Olympus despite Hera’s disapproval. Leto spent most of her time hunting with Artemis. She also sided with the Trojans during the war and helped heal Aeneas from his battle wounds.
