  2. What Science qualifications could your child be studying? • 2 separate GCSE’s – core and additional (dual award) Or • 2 separate BTEC 1st –Applied Science & Principles of Science Or • 3 separate Science GCSEs-Biology, Chemistry and Physics

  3. Triple Science GCSEs? • Three separate GCSEs – Physics, • Chemistry and Biology. • 1/3rd of assessment from Core • Science ( yr10 study) • 1/3rd of assessment from • Additional Science ( yr 11 study) • 1/ 3rdof assessment from • Triple Science option (yr 10 & 11 )

  4. Triple Science GCSEs? • Assessment all in yr11 B1,2,3 3x1 hour written exam C1,2,3 3x1 hour written exam P1,2,3 3x1 hour written exam 3 x CAU

  5. What else do we do? • After school revision/booster sessions lessons available to all pupils during the year and prior to external exams. • For GCSE pupils do 2 ’mocks’ per unit, enabling us and you to see how pupils are progressing • Homeworks are mostly exam style questions and graded to GCSE standards.

  6. What can you do? • Ensure your child is taking all steps to revise and review their learning- regularly/weekly ( www.my-gcsescience.com) • Use your child’s G2B to monitor their performance in external and internal exams or BTEC assignments • Contact your child’s science teacher or Ms West if you have any concerns or queries
