About Me • Two children – son 27 years old; daughter 20 years old • Married for 30 years to Stephen Mould • Live on a farm in Liberty with two horses; two lambs; two dogs; one cat; one chinchilla; 10 chickens; and a trough of fish • Hobbies include reading, kayaking and sewing • I truly believe that consequences are resources we can use to learn from the choices we make. They can be positive or negative, depending on my outlook.

Class Materials: • 1” 3-ring binder (stays in Room 804) • Package of 5 – tab dividers • Page protectors (5) • Notebook paper • Pens (blue or black ink) • Pencils and pencil sharpener • Pencil/pen pouch (stays in notebook) • Highlighters/dry erase markers* • Post-it Notes* • Tissues* *Optional Classroom Supply Needs: Notebook paper Pencils Candy

Routines & Lesson Plans • Class time will be a combination of direct instruction, independent practice, class discussion, and group activities. • Blended Learning will be a key component in our classroom instruction/practice/assessment. • Writing assignments of different lengths happen everyday. You will need a pencil in my classroom everyday. • Weekly homework: Will be posted in Edmodo. • Most personal reading will be completed OUTSIDE of class. • MOST LESSONS & ASSIGNMENTS POSTED & STORED IN THE CLASSROOM WEEKLY.

Class Rules: I am being respectful when I quietly enter the classroom; claim my notebook; and find my assigned seat. let my classmates complete their work without interruption or distraction. keep my hands, feet, and irrelevant thoughts to myself. let my classmates finish their conversation/response. keep irrelevant questions and outbursts to a minimum. R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Class Rules: I am being responsible when I . . . claim my notebook from the shelf. have my sharpened pencil in hand ready to write. am seated in assigned chair when bell rings. start working on the bell ringer when the bell rings. complete and turn in my homework and classroom assignments. 2. Responsibility

Class Rules: When I am “here”, I . . . participate in activities in order to learn. hear the information in order to listen to knowledge. interact daily in my notebook, completing bell ringers and assignments. ask questions that lead to relevant learning or assistance. am seated in my assigned seat when the bell rings. On Time = sitting in your seat and working when the bell rings Tardy = you are not sitting in your seat; earns classroom misconduct step. First 10/Last 10 = you cannot leave within the first ten and the last ten minutes of class. If you are at least 10 minutes late to class, you are skipping and will receive a dean referral. No excuses! 3. Attendance

Class Rules: • Personal Electronic Device (“PED”) • Classroom and School Wide • Oakland Middle School is NOT liable if your personal device is stolen or lost on campus. • In Room 603, Mrs. Mould will announce when PED usage will be permitted. Until then, PED should be silenced and placed • If PED is used in the classroom for non-instructional purposes (music, texting, browsing, checking time, etc.), it will be: • collected. • taken to office. • and an off campus adult will be called to pick it up. 4. Homework • Designed to prepare students for class assignments and/or extend learning beyond the classroom. • Students should expect some out-of-class work in the form of larger writing projects or assignments to assess skills and knowledge over long-range time period. In addition, much of your self-selected text reading will be done OUTSIDE of class. • Weekly specific “Homework Grade” accountability check will be peer review as well as teacher review of your writing.

  11. Late Work Parents contacted on major assignments OR when missing work exceeds three assignments.

  12. Make-up Work • Responsibility of the student to check Edmodo (or other digital resource) when absent. You are responsible for getting missed assignment resources from your teacher. • Assigned Homework is due upon student’s return. • Work should be made up within one day for each class day missed.

  13. Assessment & Grading • Assessment will be a combination of participation, test/quizzes, projects, presentations, homework, and writing assignments. • Grades calculated using a TOTAL POINTS system, Standards Based Grades (SBG). • All grades will be posted on INOW portal as they are updated.

  14. Stay in Touch Classes will be set up on Edmodo for students to join. In conjunction with Google and 360 products, students will be able to stay in touch with teachers and peers as well as keep track of past, present, and future assignments.
