  22. Congenital Anomalies • Congenital anomalies (birth defects) are a major cause of infant mortality, childhood morbidity and long-term disability • Occurring in 2-3% of live births and 14-24% of stillbirths • Anencephaly • Spina bifida • Encephalocele
