  2. Long-term Goal • To adopt and implement 21st century Teaching and Learning approaches in order to enhance student productivity and ameliorate their linguistic skills.

  3. Short-term Goals • Involving and encouraging student participation and practicing student-centered learning instead of teacher-centered learning. • Develop alternatives to enhance pupils creative writing and comprehension skills enabling them to learn and retain rich vocabulary (e.g. through flow chart writing). • Maximizing the use of technology, to support development of lessons. • Developing proficiency in English, both oral and written.

  4. Topics to be covered Subject: English Literature Grade: VI Novel: Matilda Topics: • Roald Dahl-Author’s Biography • Character Sketches • Reference to Context (All Chapters) • Chapter summaries

Instructional Strategies and Tasks • Adopt student-centered approach to ensure student participation • Encourage productive group discussions and idea sharing on topics that will promote higher-order thinking. • Confidence building and vocabulary enrichment. • Enhance overall linguistic skills. • Ask questions that encourage critical thinking.

Solutions to Anticipated Challenges Challenges Solutions • Permission from the Principal. • Parents may not approve of the new methods • Availability of Computer Lab • Availability of subject specialists/ coordinator for feedback . • Approval from the Head and Principal after a detailed discussion • Conduct a meeting with the parents informing them about the benefits of the new approach. Also mention the negatives and how they can be countered. Take their feedback. • integrating the curriculum with the ICT curriculum. • Forming a liaison with other English teachers to exchange resources and acquire feedback

Create multi intelligence groups/pairs and emphasizing collaboration , Successful adoption of 21st Century Learning Approaches.   12. CONCLUSION • 21st Century Approaches will enable me to empower my students and promote critical thinking. They will learn to analyse the text read and formulate answers.
