  2. Why we need Revelation… Because we can’t know God by ourselves WORDS OF LIFE - REVELATION • But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. • - Isaiah 59v2

  3. Why we need Revelation… Because we can’t know God by ourselves We can only know God and be forgiven if God reveals Himself to us and tells us how we can be in relationship with Him WORDS OF LIFE - REVELATION

  4. 1. We can know God because He speaks Hebrews 1v1 So that people could know who God is So that people could be in relationship with Him They believed what He said WORDS OF LIFE - REVELATION

We can know God because He has spoken through Jesus Hebrews 1v1-3 Jesus is the Final Word of God Jesus’s words were the ACTUAL WORDS OF GOD WORDS OF LIFE - REVELATION • “For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.” • - John 17v8

We can know God because He has spoken through Jesus Hebrews 1v1-3 Jesus is the Final Word of God Jesus’s words were the ACTUAL WORDS OF GOD Jesus’s words brought eternal life WORDS OF LIFE - REVELATION • “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.” • “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” • - John 5v24, 6v68

To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. • - Colossians 1v26-27

Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people. - Hebrews 9v26-27

  13. 4. Why revelation matters…NOW! You can know God as He really is! You can have assurance of salvation You can have confidence of eternal life You can know what God says You don’t need special spiritual experiences to know God You don’t need “special knowledge” in order to know God You already have all that you need to know God Worship Him! WORDS OF LIFE - REVELATION
